Spring is here, spring is here; it’s the most wonderful—ACHOO! Well, at least we can put away the heavy winter coats and not have to worry about being snowed in anymore! The sun is shining, lovely showers are washing away winter muck and bring rainbows, flowers are blooming, and birds are waking you up before your alarm. So, what will spring have in store for you this year?

1. SPRING CLEANING ✿ Do we have to? I know, spring cleaning is a dreaded time of the year, but think about how lovely your home will be once it’s rid of all that dust and all the things you’ve acuminated since last year! Breath in that fresh pine scent!

2. FLY A KITE ✿ One of the best things to do when it’s windy outside is to go fly a kite! Just be sure not to loose the poor thing in a tree!

3. START A GARDEN ✿ Though a lot of flowers are supposed to be planted before winter, you can still go to the local nursery and get tons of plants just waiting for a new home! Get dirt under your fingers and enjoy the process of landscaping.

4. JUMP IN PUDDLES ✿ Okay, so it’s a little silly, but what else are you supposed to do during spring showers? Sit inside like you did all winter? No!

5. NEW CLASS ✿ With everyone coming out of hibernation, now is the time to try something new! Have you always wanted to learn how to cook or paint? Maybe take a martial arts class or learn a new language. There is so much to do!

6. SPORTS ✿ With warm weather coming, a lot of outdoor sports like baseball and basketball are staring up again. Are you going to root for the home team? Join one and get killed during the training process?

7. PICNICS ✿ Sunshine, yummy food, all of your friends… who could ask for anything more? Picnics are a wonderful way to enjoy the weather and catch up.

8. HIKING ✿ Some of us hate winter because we’re cooped up inside all the time and going outside would risk out necks. So with warm weather and the lack of ice, go and enjoy the newly opened mountain trails.

9. FARMER’S MARKET ✿ Now that everything is in bloom and waking up from the winter, it’s the perfect time to go to an outdoor market of any sort and see what is on sale.

10. CAMPING ✿ Better yet, why not make it a whole weekend trip? Enjoy roasted marshmallows again, stargazing, bird watching, fishing, and more.

11. FLOWER VIEWING ✿ A popular event, especially if a city has an area dedicated to such trees, watching flowers bloom has been a tradition in some countries for years. It’s especially fun to keep an eye out for when different trees will bloom.

12. HUNT FOR CLOVERS ✿ A certain holiday is coming up, and what better way to commemorate it than have some extra good luck? Just don’t try to catch any leprechauns.

13. SPRING BREAK ✿ Whoohoo! Time to grab some bathing suits, sun tan lotion, and hit the beach! It’s party time! With no school for a week and people flocking to tropical locations, how can someone not have fun?

14. ALLERGIES ✿ A not-so-fun part of spring is the sneezing and watery eyes that come from it. Better stock up on tea and medicine!

15. ART IN BLOOM ✿ A term used by a lot of museums, many new exhibits are hitting the art and history scenes. Is there a favorite painter coming around again? Is there a new collection a museum has been keeping a secret? Buy a ticket and go find out!

16. PAINTBALL ✿ Who doesn’t love to get dirty and beat someone though sheer determination and tactical superiority without hurting them too badly? Make sure to wear the armor, or you’ll have more than just some minor bruises.

17. SPRING FESTIVAL ✿ Who doesn’t love a little tradition? Ranging from the May Day celebrations to the Chinese New Year and International Astrology Day, there are all sorts of events going on all over the place. With music, dancing, food, and a plethora of traditions, some of them going back centuries, there’s a lot to do!

18. OUTDOOR CONCERTS ✿ And of course, how can one ignore all the new concerts going on? While indoor concerts are nice, warm weather makes it easier to travel, and hearing music outside where voices can really carry is especially fun. Maybe make a party out of it and light a few bonfires and have some barbeques.

19. SPRING FASHION ✿ Some say that this is the best part of the season: putting away all of those coats and gloves and scarves in favor for everything that is brand new, light, breezy, and full of fresh colors, bold prints, and more! Do you hate shopping and are dragged into it, or are you on of the residential experts ready to hit the runways?

20. WILDCARD ✿ Is there an activity we forgot? Did you want to roll again or maybe combine some ideas? Go for it!

[ It's at moments like this that she feels like she can just lose herself for a moment. Minako might not seem like it on the outside, but she's so concerned with keeping up appearances and making sure she's silly in the right company and serious in the other right company that it takes more of a strain on her than she'd ever like to admit.

But she doesn't have to do that when she's just with Karkat. Then she can just be silly or serious or even show that she's not feeling incredibly great or admit she's worrying about something. Because for all his yelling, Karkat would never judge her. And he'd probably yell at other people who'd dare to say something about her just as easily as he'd yell at her. So when he grabs her hand and moves into his hair, she knows she doesn't have to hide for a moment. She doesn't even have to be strong like she's always so used to being. It's okay even if for a moment she just wants to hide in him as she plays with his tongue.

Her free hand slips to his hips, lingering there on the sides. ]

[ He shifts a little to accommodate her touch. Really, he'd like it if she climbed onto his lap and they continued those kisses, but he's aware that this is a public space. Still, he lingers on that kiss, not letting it end quickly. When he finally has to break off to breathe, he presses on of the clovers to her nose. It's meant to be a sweet gesture, and in his head it was much more romantic than it looked in reality. He flushes again, but tries to keep his composure. ]

[reloves]

[ She lets out a breathless lag at his little half-succeeded romantic gesture, still trying to catch her breath from that kiss just now. But after a few deep breaths and brushing some of her long hair back behind her ear, she mostly seems alright again. ]

Ah, I could go on like that all day.. [ Clearly one half of this duo certainly wasn't embarassed by any of that, nor that it was in public. In fact, Minako is so relaxed that she stretches out her arms and just lets herself drop backwards so she's lying on the clovers, not even caring she's squishing half of them this way. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ It seemed to have worked. Karkat lets out a breath of relief before throwing himself back down on the clovers too. It's a much bigger gesture than Minako's was, and he lays with his arms outspread at shoulder-level, the elbow of his right arm just a little above Minako's head where she lays. If she crushed some, he crushed lots. ]

Do you want to find a stinking four leafed weed still?

[reloves]

[ There's another moment before she even answers, like she's too busy taking in the peace of the moment.

But it's Minako, she never does quite shut up, so in the end the answer still comes. ]

Nature can keep them. I've already found something much better.. [ It's half-mumbled, almost as if she's asleep - she sure isn't, though - and she contently rolls over to be closer to him, not even caring that she's only squishing more with the movement. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ WOW. That was smooth. Karkat goes crimson again and isn't quite sure where to look! ]

... Then why drag me all the way out here in the first place?

[reloves]

What, you're saying I can't have both?

[ Completely ignoring the fact that other people could easily pass by here and see them, Minako keeps moving closer and closer to the boy until she's able to wrap her arms around his waist and press herself close to him to just plainly cuddle with him, sighing contently. ]

[carcinogenetics]

I'm not saying anything like that! [ Fluster, fluster. He grumbles a bit as she cuddles up to him, but it's affectionate, if grumbling can be called that. Turning his head, he presses his nose to her hair. ]

... Guess it's nice, being out in this weak human sun with you.

[reloves]

[ It's just so much like him to complain even at a moment like this, even when you're lying in the grass and there's faint sounds of nature in the distance - almost like some weird movie scene or a commercial, really - and she can feel his body against hers. It's impossible to be grumpy under these circumstances, she's sure, but Karkat manages to pull it off in his own grumpfectionate way all the same.

It makes her giggle against him. ]

I'm pretty glad we're not being roasted, yeah. [ Karkat and his alien things.. ] I can't tan too much, it wouldn't look good on me!

[carcinogenetics]

I still can't believe humans can change their skin tone even slightly. That's so weird. Only Rainbow Drinkers can do that. [ And those used to be mythical, until everyone turned their back on the body and Kanaya became one.

... That's not a good time to think of. He presses his nose against Minako's hair. ]

[reloves]

[ It's probably hard to tell whether Minako can sense his momentary discomfort or not - she hardly ever seems to denote so with words, after all, and her actions could always technically be coincidences as well - but right after he says that and she lies there for a moment with his face into her hair, the girl then rolls over and practically moves up in the same move so she ends up hanging over him on all fours, trying to keep her long hair from sticking straight into his face as it falls down from behind her head. ]

So would you still like me even if I was a weird skin tone changer? [ There's nothing more that Minako loves than coercing him, after all - trying to get him to say things, seeing him grumble in his adorable kind of way. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ When she leans over him and lets that massive curtain of soft blonde hair cascade around them and block them off from anyone's sight, he can't do much more than just gape at her. It's not often he's struck speechless but with her? It seems to happen all too often. When it's not her over-enthusiastic behaviour that bordered on stupidity, it was just how breathtaking she was.

He jerks his head up to kiss her before laying back down again. ]

Maybe.

[reloves]

Hmmm, that's all I'm getting?

[ She puts on her best pouty face, still not mvoing from her current position over him. ]

Just a "maybe"? [ Although a maybe is already a lot coming from Karkat.. ]

[carcinogenetics]

That's all. [ He manages a pretty great pout of his own! Not that he'd admit it, of course. ]

Maybe I would. Maybe you'd be too weird. Who knows.

This is all hypothetical bullshit anyway. Your skin doesn't change.

[reloves]

Don't tell me that's a challenge! [ Of course it's not, but Minako - with boundless enthusiasm - takes it as one either way, giddily wiggling her legs back and forth a bit as she's lying there. ]

I bet I could make it change color if I really wanted to.

[ Because Minako is Minako, and on an outward level she always manages to project that kind of attitude that says she can get whatever she wants whenever she wants. ]

[carcinogenetics]

Oh no. [ He props himself up on his elbows, scowling. ] No. You're going to dye your skin pink or some shit, aren't you? That doesn't count!

[reloves]

And why wouldn't it?

[ Minako happily grins as she looks at him, apparently either ignoring his grumping or so entirely used to it that she might as well have a blind spot to it with how well she can ignore it. ]

All's fair in love and war, Karkat! [ Both probably apply a little to them from time to time.. ]

[carcinogenetics]

What does that even mean in this situation? [ He grabs her shoulders as if to shake her, seems to rethink it, and tugs her down for another kiss.

It feels better, and seems to shut her up better too. ]

[reloves]

[ When their lips stop meeting once more, Minako lingers closer to his face than before, a smile playing around her lips. Her breath is probably still tickling Karkat's face with how close she is. ]

Well, that, for example. [ She always loves it when she can actually get Karkat to do stuff like that - kissing her, cuddling with her, the whole deal. ]

[carcinogenetics]

... You planned that all along?

[ He stares at her, not sure that she's serious or not. ]

[reloves]

[ She doesn't even answer at first.

Minako just smiles. That tiny smile that says anything without having to use any words.

A moment later she giggles though, happily. ]

Don't I know you better than anyone? [ Especially now they've been together for longer. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ That damn question. It's so true. She acts ditzy and dumb, but she knows people. Karkat had thought that if she'd played Sgrub she should have been the Heart hero, but maybe she should have been the Blood one. She would have been a much better one than he had been. ]

Doesn't give you a right to play me like a stringed instrument, [ he growls, but his heart isn't in it. He doesn't even meet her eyes while he says it, and instead fiddles with a lock of long blonde hair between his fingers. ]

[reloves]

[ She knows Karkat doesn't mean it that way.

In her heart, she knows it, but there's a tiny voice that whispers in the back of her head that she's maybe pushing him a little too much, that she should at least make sure-- ]

.. Well, if I'm ever doing it too much, you can just tell me. [ Her tone isn't very hurt because she isn't really hurt, but there's a small tad of worry in it. As much as she loves to tease him, Minako wouldn't consciously want to hurt anyone ever, let alone Karkat. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ That surprises him, and as much as he'd like to make a comment about it, he knows this is a bit more of a serious moment and decides not to. Instead, he reaches up to tug her back down for a kiss. This one is a light but meaningful one. He hopes. ]

You know it's the same. For you. I know I mess up a lot so if I do it to you you have full permission to kick me in the bone bulge.

[reloves]

Hmm.

[ It does seem to cheer her up at least a little bit, the smile returning to her face as she lets out a soft breath, one of her hands moving to touch her lips briefly before letting it drop again when she speaks. ]

Of course I know I have that. But you don't mess up as much as you think, you know. [ Although they share that in common - they're so incredibly hard on themselves, despite outwardly seeming (maybe at first, maybe later) as fairly confident and loud people. ] Really! I'm sure everyone in your life has been glad to have known you.

[ She says it so easily, so light -- as if it's just a fact to her rather than something she's assuming. As if life just really is that easy. ]
