Spring is here, spring is here; it’s the most wonderful—ACHOO! Well, at least we can put away the heavy winter coats and not have to worry about being snowed in anymore! The sun is shining, lovely showers are washing away winter muck and bring rainbows, flowers are blooming, and birds are waking you up before your alarm. So, what will spring have in store for you this year?

1. SPRING CLEANING ✿ Do we have to? I know, spring cleaning is a dreaded time of the year, but think about how lovely your home will be once it’s rid of all that dust and all the things you’ve acuminated since last year! Breath in that fresh pine scent!

2. FLY A KITE ✿ One of the best things to do when it’s windy outside is to go fly a kite! Just be sure not to loose the poor thing in a tree!

3. START A GARDEN ✿ Though a lot of flowers are supposed to be planted before winter, you can still go to the local nursery and get tons of plants just waiting for a new home! Get dirt under your fingers and enjoy the process of landscaping.

4. JUMP IN PUDDLES ✿ Okay, so it’s a little silly, but what else are you supposed to do during spring showers? Sit inside like you did all winter? No!

5. NEW CLASS ✿ With everyone coming out of hibernation, now is the time to try something new! Have you always wanted to learn how to cook or paint? Maybe take a martial arts class or learn a new language. There is so much to do!

6. SPORTS ✿ With warm weather coming, a lot of outdoor sports like baseball and basketball are staring up again. Are you going to root for the home team? Join one and get killed during the training process?

7. PICNICS ✿ Sunshine, yummy food, all of your friends… who could ask for anything more? Picnics are a wonderful way to enjoy the weather and catch up.

8. HIKING ✿ Some of us hate winter because we’re cooped up inside all the time and going outside would risk out necks. So with warm weather and the lack of ice, go and enjoy the newly opened mountain trails.

9. FARMER’S MARKET ✿ Now that everything is in bloom and waking up from the winter, it’s the perfect time to go to an outdoor market of any sort and see what is on sale.

10. CAMPING ✿ Better yet, why not make it a whole weekend trip? Enjoy roasted marshmallows again, stargazing, bird watching, fishing, and more.

11. FLOWER VIEWING ✿ A popular event, especially if a city has an area dedicated to such trees, watching flowers bloom has been a tradition in some countries for years. It’s especially fun to keep an eye out for when different trees will bloom.

12. HUNT FOR CLOVERS ✿ A certain holiday is coming up, and what better way to commemorate it than have some extra good luck? Just don’t try to catch any leprechauns.

13. SPRING BREAK ✿ Whoohoo! Time to grab some bathing suits, sun tan lotion, and hit the beach! It’s party time! With no school for a week and people flocking to tropical locations, how can someone not have fun?

14. ALLERGIES ✿ A not-so-fun part of spring is the sneezing and watery eyes that come from it. Better stock up on tea and medicine!

15. ART IN BLOOM ✿ A term used by a lot of museums, many new exhibits are hitting the art and history scenes. Is there a favorite painter coming around again? Is there a new collection a museum has been keeping a secret? Buy a ticket and go find out!

16. PAINTBALL ✿ Who doesn’t love to get dirty and beat someone though sheer determination and tactical superiority without hurting them too badly? Make sure to wear the armor, or you’ll have more than just some minor bruises.

17. SPRING FESTIVAL ✿ Who doesn’t love a little tradition? Ranging from the May Day celebrations to the Chinese New Year and International Astrology Day, there are all sorts of events going on all over the place. With music, dancing, food, and a plethora of traditions, some of them going back centuries, there’s a lot to do!

18. OUTDOOR CONCERTS ✿ And of course, how can one ignore all the new concerts going on? While indoor concerts are nice, warm weather makes it easier to travel, and hearing music outside where voices can really carry is especially fun. Maybe make a party out of it and light a few bonfires and have some barbeques.

19. SPRING FASHION ✿ Some say that this is the best part of the season: putting away all of those coats and gloves and scarves in favor for everything that is brand new, light, breezy, and full of fresh colors, bold prints, and more! Do you hate shopping and are dragged into it, or are you on of the residential experts ready to hit the runways?

20. WILDCARD ✿ Is there an activity we forgot? Did you want to roll again or maybe combine some ideas? Go for it!

[ It's springtime and what better time to spend with your loved ones, right? Or so surely Minako would've been preaching everywhere and continued to drag Karkat out to do something (aka one of the above prompts, your pick) with her.

You can do either demeverse or anything else like the two of them somehow ending up in Minako's world or something GO FOR IT... ]

[ Looks like they're hunting for clovers - and it looks like Karkat is in a pretty foul mood about it. It's one thing to suddenly land in 90s Japan, it's another to be forced to do something so utterly alien to him that he can't make head nor tails of it. Humans were weird. ]

Why are we looking for a four leaf one? That's so stupid. There are lots of perfectly serviceable three leaf ones!

[reloves]

That's the whole idea!

[ Minako lets out a sound that might have sounded like a long-suffering sigh if it was anyone else at all who made the sound, but since it's Minako all it sounds like is maybe a tad overdramatic. ]

Since they're so hard to find, they're much more desirable than three leaf ones! [ She stands upright from where she was trying to find a four leaf clover, proudly putting her hands on her hips and puffing out her chest. ]

Just like me, right? Sure, there's a lot of girls out there, but none of them are as cute as I am! People always want the best they can find!

Did you just equate yourself to an annoying, useless weed?

[ He huffs and rolls his eyes at her, peeling off the leaves from the one he'd plucked. ]

If we find this it better make us find one of those green monstrosities of myth and legend. Y'know, they shit gold, or something?

[reloves]

[ Wow, Karkat!! Even if she's an annoying, useless weed, she's your annoying and useless weed, okay.. but at least Minako does keep the thought to herself for now and shrug off what he's saying while she's going back to bending over to look among the plants. ]

Wasn't that a goose with golden eggs or something like that? I mean-- I'm not going to touch some guy's poop just because it's gold! I'm not that desperate! [ .. she thinks. ]

[carcinogenetics]

You mean a hissing devil creature, don't you? [ He's pretty sure that 'goose' is the human word for 'hissing devil creature'. They always gave things weird names. ] I wouldn't want any eggs that came from one of those. They'd hatch into more, and be made of gold, and be a gigantic fuck you to everyone who thought they could scare off flesh and blood creatures.

[ He picks another three-leafer. ]

[ Suddenly Minako laughs. It's hard not to with the way Karkat puts things into words, really. There's a wide smile on her face when she glances over at where Karkat is standing. ]

Don't tell me you're afraid of a few of those things. [ Not that it would be weird if he was, they're pretty vicious.. ] What if a group of them attacked me? [ Are you just fishing for some dramatic romantic action, Minako.. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ He opens his mouth to say that any idiot in their right mind would be scared of those things - but then she presents that stupid scenario and he clacks his teeth shut. He roots through the shamrocks, a blush high on his cheeks. ]

What kind of a shithead do you take me for?! Of course I'd try to help you out then - or maybe I'd need to help them out, since I've seen what you can be like!

[ Okay, okay, Minako seriously can't deny that she really likes teasing Karkat. But it's only since his reactions are always the best - and she does try to not push it too far. Even if that's hard for Minako "no limits whatsoever" Aino. ]

You think I'm scarier than those things..? [ Unfortunately that limit hasn't been reached yet, so she makes fake tears actually well up in her eyes. ] S-so you're saying I'm hideous like them too?!

[carcinogenetics]

[ OH SHIT.

Karkat feels panic rise in him like bile. He's going to spew words of frantic reassurance like vomit if he isn't careful. He has to keep cool, think of a way to say this calmly and smoothly. ]

Of course you're pretty than a fucking goose, you idiot! I wouldn't make out with a goose, would I?!

[ Nailed it. ]

[ Completely nailed it.

At least it does seem to reassure her-- although she was faking those tears to begin with, but still, she brightens up considerably when she hears that. And she can't help but let out a few giggles at it. It's all so very much like Karkat, after all. ]

Well, I'm glad to hear that from you. [ And she fully well means it, even with those giggles before it. ] When it comes from you, it's only the highest of compliments, huh? You wouldn't say anything you don't mean!

[carcinogenetics]

I'm an absolute bastion of integrity. Don't forget it! [ But he's still pretty flustered, and he only mumbles it as he plucks up another shamrock and twiddles it between his claws. ]

[reloves]

[ Minako isn't about to let him off easily. Apparently, at least not today, since she's already moving over to where he is, practically standing directly behind him with a smile on her face. ]

So, did you find me a four leaf yet?

[carcinogenetics]

[ He flusters, turning around to look up at her and snapping. ] Who said I was looking for you?!

[ You did, Karkat. Probably. ]

Get down here and help me!

[reloves]

Huh? [ At first she just sounds surprised - even though it's fake surprise, considering that Minako - despite her apparent ditziness - is actually very good at telling what people are like. And she knows Karkat so well by now that most of the time she can exactly predict his reactions. Like now, for instance. But that's also why she knows how to counter it. ]

Karkat, you're not going to be like some handsome prince who brings the beautiful goddess the gift she desires..?

[ She even works up a melodramatic sniffle. Who cares if it even works or not, Minako just has to do this since it's just the way she is.. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ Predictably, he bristles. How can she just - just say something like that! Dammit, he needs to up his game. ]

Just - just get down here, all right?!

[ Gonna smooch. Gonna be SO SMOOTH. She won't even see it coming. YEAH!! ]

[reloves]

[ To his credit, she at least doesn't see it coming. She thinks Karkat is just being Karkat, so after a melodramatic sigh to continue her little act over here she does squat down again to be on the same level as he is while he's trying to look through the field of tiny plants. ]

What, do you think you'd be able to be a better prince down here?

[carcinogenetics]

[ He bumps his jaw against hers in an aggressive attempt at a kiss. ]

[reloves]

[ Sure, it might not be a perfect kiss - few of her kisses with Karkat have ever been, really - but that doesn't stop Minako from enjoying it all the same. In fact, he can probably feel the way her lips curl up a little as they kiss before she moves to kiss him in return. Not as aggressively, maybe, but there's some definite force in it as well, claiming his lips as her own and not even caring who might see them out here together. Minako's never had a particular amount of shame, especially not about this stuff. ]

[carcinogenetics]

[ He's surprised at her vehemence, but it definitely pushes him to kiss her a bit better than he had been. He isn't a bad kisser exactly, just often kind of brash when he initiates. It gets better under her lead, and he puts his hands on her shoulders as he tilts his head and opens his mouth for her. ]

[reloves]

[ It's little things like this that are what she loves about him. He might be brash and he might try and fail sometimes, but Karkat is the type who always keeps trying all the same until he gets it right, even if it might take a while.

So it's easy for her to melt into the kiss when he touches her like that, moves his head-- and she's the one to initiate this time, moving her tongue out of her own mouth (although not too quickly, Minako's not actually as extremely rash as she seems) and instead into his. ]

[ He puffs up a bit in pride that she's enjoying the kiss. He meets her tongue with his and slips his lips against hers, trying to ignore the slight sound of suction as he properly fits to her. His hands slide up to her shoulders, then into her hair. He even scoots a little closer to her.

She's so... he feels like he can get to know how she really is when they're being intimate like this. She's so loud and brash and bulldozing (much like him, in a way, but with exuberance rather than irritability) but it's not how she really is, not deep down. She's thoughtful and sweet and maybe a little insecure and the gentleness of it comes through in times like these.

That's why he takes one hand from her hair and laces his fingers with hers. ]

[ Of course Ilya's lifespan is limited thanks to her being a homunculus instead of a regular person - which Ilya herself knows, but she's not the only one with this knowledge. And it's easy to tell that her lifespan is about to run out any day now.

It's her last spring after a cold winter.

For some reason it's post the Holy Grail War but Archer is still around and waves hands mysteriously, this is nasuverse I can do anything I want including making up a scenario like this. She's pretty much just trying to enjoy her last days of being alive and is dragging Archer out to play so it's cute yet sad - you can pick your poison that'll slowly kill your heart the prompt.

[ This time, he knows. He knows what's going on, and that it can't be stopped. This time, he can make up for how stupidly he acted the first time he saw her body stop working before his eyes, and he can help her truly enjoy her last days.

(Even if a traitorous, stubborn part of him still whispers in his brain, "This time, you should save her.") ]

Don't be ridiculous, Ilya. This is Japan, so you can't go to a spring festival in clothes like that.

[ He holds out a lavender yukata wit ha pink sash ]

Huh? [ She turns to look at him after his first remark - it's not like she's entirely up to date with Japanese customs, after all - but then when he holds out the yukata, the blank look of surprise turns into something more like an expression of awe as she lets out an impressed sound. ]

I can wear that, really?! [ It's like a kid who's allowed to go into a candystore and take whatever they want, that kind of reaction. In fact, she's already reaching out to it to grab it from his hands.

Somehow it's hard to tell that she's actually supposed to be dying soon. With her body slowly breaking down it already should be hard to just be able to act like this, but you wouldn't tell for a moment that Ilya will soon be gone. She's still fighting, after all.

After staring at the yukata for a few moments, she finally turns her gaze to the man-- ] ... But what about you then, Archer? You can't go in those clothes either then.
