[ ... Sigh.

He leans backwards as he's sitting on a bench near the biggest local bus stop, but he only ends up hitting the back of his head hard against a sign post staring there. Muttering a curse under his breath he rubs the back of his head as if he's trying to relieve the pain. Man, what a pain.. not that he minds doing jobs for Jotaro, but all of a sudden he decided to come back to town and bring his kid along?! Couldn't he have given a little more notice to begin with?! He was going to go out with his friends, but now he'll be stuck babysitting instead..

Well, not like he has a choice. He just has to deal with it, which is why he's sitting here and waiting now for the bus to show up since said kid is supposed to be on it. Not that Jotaro told him anything more about the kid other than that it's his kid, so he's assuming it's a guy and probably a young one too.. yeah, he's about to be in for a surprise.

When he finally notices the bus coming closer, he slowly stands up, hands casually shoved into his pockets, and he waits for the people to get off the bus, looking out for the person who's supposed to be that guy's kid. ]

.. Heh, you sure you want to race against a guy? [ Even if she's not an ordinary girl, he's got this in the pocket, he's sure! He'll save some money here, and since it's a fair bet it's not like Jotaro can blame him for that one!

And then he'll have some extra money to spend on.. well, new cool shoes or something. Sounds like a plan. ]

It's over at [ address here ], so that's down this street, to the right and then the third street on the left. You can remember that, right? And you can't cry if you lose!

Hey, you take me for a regular girl in the first place? I bet I can beat your ass in something like this. [She says, stretching herself out as she hears out the directions he's giving her. Right...shouldn't seem to hard in the first place. In fact, she think she's got this.]

...oh, and Josuke? [She turns to him, her expression turning serious.] ...anything goes, alright?

[So she says, already letting loose one of her strings to actually wrap around his feet before she actually takes off herself, sticking out her tongue at him all the while.]

JOLYNE.. DAMMIT, GET BACK HERE!

[ He's yelling but she's already so far ahead of him because of the surprise he got, he thought they were just going to do this fairly! Not like he was immediately thinking of cheating, he thought it'd be unfair to do that to a girl...

But now he just grits his teeth as he stares down at his feet. That stupid string..

.. Wait. He has a sudden revelation. She unraveled that string from herself, right.. That means-- he quickly grabs the string before making Crazy Diamond use its power on it so it's just going back to Jolyne.. and since he's holding onto it, he's just being pulled in her direction. Not that it's easy for him, he has to move his feet wildly to keep up with the speed. ]

W.. woah, not good, it's still going too fast.. ugh, shit, I just got to do this..!

HEY, AS-- [ .. whoops, can't.. call Jolyne names.. ] Look, I'm already catching up again!

[In the background, you can hear the faint sound of Rohan laughing at Josuke and cursing him.

But no, she's already sprinting this whole thing, already about to turn the first corner when she begins to hear some shouting behind her. Wait, that couldn't be possible, she tied Josuke up to make sure he didn't get out...so, she turns her head behind her to find the guy actually spring behind her, her eyes widening up in surprise. But...how the hell did that even-!? Her string wasn't suppose to break that easily!

She grits her teeth, finally realizing...it was his damn Stand that did this, wasn't it?! That damn turning things back to it's original state...if only she actually saw that coming! No, this can't end like this, not after how long she had the lead for-!]

Feh, you sure you can catch up to me after that little start I had? I'd like to see you try and catch up! [So she says, picking up her feet to move even faster than she originally was, cutting around another corner.]

[ ~~DAMMIT ROHAN GO BACK TO YOUR STUPID MANGA!!~~ ]

Shit.. [ He can notice she's fast though, he wouldn't have been able to catch up easily if it wasn't for the string.. and it slips out of his fingers now either way so it's back to Jolyne fully, which means he'll just have to run with his own strength here. This is a man's pride, he really can't lose here-- not to mention he'll have to spend half of his month's allowance at this rate, he'll go broke! No way he can let that happen or he can't buy new video games..!! ]

Don't you underestimate me..! [ At least he's putting everything he has into the way he's running here so he's catching up with her, slowly but surely.. ]

[Dammit, last stretch of the damn race-! If she can somehow pull ahead of him in this last moment, and keep this awesome lead she has of him, then there's no way she's going to lose in the first place! The Joestar bloodline is flowing through her more than before, determined to not let herself fall victim to this-!

But she spoke too soon. Her feet actually bumped into something, as she felt her body propel forward in the air. No, it was from running...she was falling, actually. Dammit, she got too caught up in something like this that she didn't even notice to look for the smallest things in her way. And right now, she hit the floor hard, feeling herself roll along the pavement as she holds her side in pain. Dammit, she...she lost...Josuke would definitely take advantage of something like this. She just looks up, watching the boy come up from behind as she grimaces a bit in pain.

...yeah, that was definitely blood spilling from her, there was no way she wouldn't have broke skin. But it wasn't too bad, it just really hurt...]

[ He's still running as fast as he can. He really doesn't want to have to pay that much money now or he won't be able to buy anything for the rest of the month, probably, so he can't afford to lose! In fact, he's so focused on trying to run as fast as he can that he hardly notices Jolyne falling. It isn't until he hears a weird loud sound that he stops, sliding another meter or two along because of how fast he was going, and that's when he notices Jolyne lying there.

Sure, he could just run on.. but that's not the kind of guy Josuke is. He wouldn't just leave her there, even if it means that he'll lose, helping her is more important. She looks seriously hurt, after all, so he doesn't even have to think about it, he instinctively runs over to her. ]

Jolyne..!

[ He shouts her name, and when he's next to her he quickly kneels down to look at the state of her body.. fortunately it doesn't look too bad, even as he notices the blood there. ]

Damn.. you okay? [ But even as he's saying that, he's already busy. It's only natural to do this much since he has Crazy Diamond's power, so he moves his hand to press it against her side, against where she's holding her sides too. Of course it's not his hand but his Stand's too, and he focuses as he tries to restore her skin and possibly bones if there's something wrong there too. At least he can try to take away as much of the pain as he can, even though he has to frown a little. He's not as used to using Crazy Diamond anymore, but.. there we go, he managed to heal her.

Relieved he can't help but grin at her, a bit goofily. ]

Your mom or Jotaro-san didn't teach you to say something like "pain, pain, go away" or something like that, right? I think I feel a little too old for that. [ It's a joke.. ]

[...what the hell was this guy doing? If it was her, she would have just taken the advantage and get to restaurant...then come back and heal the poor bastard. But...no, that didn't seem like it was happening right now. Her eyes were a bit lit up as he just...miraculously healed her like that, the pain from her side now subsiding away. Wow...so it could also heal people as well...it still was a pretty amazing ability he had right there, if not a very kind one. Still, she managed to actually muster out a smile, before standing up...

...and bonking the guy on the head.]

Feh, what do you take me for, a damsel in distress? Of course my mom taught me what the hell that saying was, it was also some magical bullshit that managed to make me feel better. [But she let out a tiny sigh, her expression becoming a bit more...saddened? Passionate? Who knows with what Jolyne is feeling.]

...thanks, anyways, for doing that. You didn't have to do it in the first place...but I guess an idiot like you ain't so half bad in the first place. So...guess I'll repay you by buying you lunch.

[She swallowed thickly, thinking about how her money is going to go down the drain, just like that...]

[ Of course he immediately makes a noise the moment she knocks him over the head like that, his hands moving up to rub his head a little as if he's trying to relieve the pain, no matter how small it is. It's a purely instinctive reaction, really, he didn't really.. expect her to hit him of all things right after he helped her out like this.

Then he stops though, lowering his hands again with a sigh. He shakes his head a little bit. ]

Nah, let's split it fair down the middle. [ And since he figured Jolyne won't just accept any nice reason from him that easily, he quickly makes up an excuse-- ] Jotaro-san would murder me if I made you pay everything, after all. Besides, you were gonna win from me back there for sure! Damn, you're fast!

[ He grins. Apparently he's just trying to help her get into a good mood too now. ]

[...tch. This guy...asking to split it both ways, huh? Sure, why not. If she was able to swallow down her pride at this point, that is. But...seeing as how this guy actually had a really good heart on him...a small smile seemed to escape her lips, as she suddenly began to let out small laughter, patting Josuke on the back, before wrapping her arm around her shoulder.]

You got a deal there, then. Besides, I would yell at my dad if he actually murdered you...cause you know what? You're actually a good kid, Josuke. I'd probably be willing to help you out with whatever you need, ya know? So, if you ever have any girl troubles, come talk to me, and I'll be able to sort some things out.

[She still laughs, not letting go of him from under her arm. Yeah, it was nice bonding with another family member that wasn't that old fart or Mister Oceanologist. Josuke seemed to be good enough.]

...'sides, I was gonna run off and still make you pay the whole amount when you were done healing me. But c'mon, let's get a move on.

[ Man, being called a kid is a little embarassing.. not that she's that much older than him, just a few years!! And he's pretty tall and manly, okay!! But he doesn't protest it much, especially not since she suddenly seems a lot more friendly and open.. so this girl isn't just really grumpy or crude, huh? Deep down she's good.. maybe that's why she's like Jotaro, Josuke figures that much. They both don't seem like friendly people at first but deep down they're good.. something like that, either way.

But the last line totally shakes him out of his thoughts. ]

Hey, hey, hey!! You can't just say that on the side and let it slip! Damn, there's a limit to taking advantage of people! [ No, Josuke, you're just too nice for your own good unless the other person's a total asshole.. ]

But.. man, hanging out with you's a lot different than the rest of the family I've met. I mean, not that I dislike my old man or Jotaro-san, but they're.. so old, y'know? [ Jotaro is just old since he acts like some kind of distant old man all the time.. ] I never met someone around my own age from the family before.

[Okay, that got her to break out in laughter- or at least the "taking advantage of people" part, because it really wasn't that far from the truth. But hey, she's gotten better in recent years, which is why she's practically nudging Josuke in the side now.]

Oh come on, you can't take a little joke like that yourself? And I thought you were someone that I could totally joke around with. And don't worry, I was kidding about that last part, too.

[She's still sputtering out little chuckles here and there- oops, like she can really contain herself when she's having this much fun with someone that was close to her own age. And it's even more apparent by the way she smiles brightly at the guy when he says that last part.]

Same here, those guys are just big ol' sticks in the mud that really don't know what fun is. Which is why I'm sorta glad I'm hanging around someone like you! Hell, if I was babysat by some loser in their fifties, there ain't no way in hell I'd be sticking around this long.

I'd feel bad for that person if they had to watch you..

[ He means it in the most affectionate way, really. Because no matter how you view it, Jolyne is a pretty damn scary girl-- not exactly scary to him, but probably scary to most people, he figures. But deep down there's good underneath is, so not like he minds at all. ]

You'd probably jack their wallet and get some food somewhere with it.. does Jotaro-san really let you get away with shit like that? My mom'd murder me!

I'd feel bad for them, too, but it's not like I can help it. It's how I am.

[And she takes pride in being who she is in the first place, like she'd let some bone head tell her otherwise.

But to that next statement, Jolyne's face changed from it's happy demeanor to actual contempt. She let out a huff, turning her face away from Josuke so she doesn't have to see.]

...him? He could give two less shits about what I do, actually. It's not like the guy was ever there for me in the first place, anyways. Some dad that is, right?

[ Oh, this, huh.. well, he can't say he isn't familiar with the feeling. He had problems with Joseph too when they first met, after all, and even when they first met he was already so old.. but for Jolyne it's different, right? Her father was actually together with her mother, while he's just.. well, an accident, some sort of bastard child. But there's still part of it that's similar enough to recognize the feeling.

So he reaches up with one hand, rubbing the back of his head. ]

It's not like I had any contact with my old man either. I never even saw him until Jotaro-san brought him over here a while ago. I was raised by my mom and her old man all this time.

[So, he was...well, sorta like her, wasn't he? But, in her case, her dad was always there...except he never showed any amount of caring towards her and her mother. And something like that has made Jolyne resent that fact about her father. So, she's practically gritting her teeth as she's thinking about all of this, hearing Josuke's words.]

...Huh. Guess we aren't too far apart in that sense huh? Tell me, did your mom raise you as well? At least you...sorta had a father figure around the house, can't imagine what the hell Grandpa Joseph was thinking...

...sorry, I didn't mean to, uh...you know. Bog you down with this talk about dads and such, though...guess it just sorta slipped out of my mouth.

Nah, it's fine. No need to apologize for that kinda thing. [ It seemed like a rather big deal to her, after all. Josuke had never really cared until he met the guy and even then it was resolved quickly, but it must be different for her.. ]

The old man had me with my mom while he was already married, so of course he couldn't stay. I didn't even care, I was just fine with mom, but.. [ .. he sighs. It's not that deep, though. ] Then he showed up that one time and it was just weird dealing with him, I couldn't even think of that guy as my dad. I was sort of pissed off that he did that to mom too.

But.. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that it took some time, but I started to realise he actually wasn't that bad of a person and accepted him. Guess it's sort of hard to see at first.

[Jolyne listened quietly to hear out what Josuke had to say. Yeah, she heard the story from her Dad, but she couldn't actually believe it until she had actually met this goofball for herself and hear it come out of his own mouth. Still, she...actually gets where he's coming from a little, although...

She still hates the everlasting crap out of her dad for not being there all the time. Still, her expression is definitely a little lighter than what it previously was before, as she's rubbing Josuke on the back.] ...Sorry you had to go through all sorts of shit like that. Man, I couldn't even imagine what it'd be like if my dad was as old as him, though...

Heh, guess it's sort of good you got along with your old man, after all, though. Seriously, he may seem a bit out there, but...Grandpa Joseph ain't all that bad.

Yeah. 's not like I have a problem with him anymore, it's fine now.

[ He was plenty friendly with the guy before he left Morioh again, after all. Maybe he should visit him sometime if he didn't live so far away.. but that's not what's important, either way, he was just telling her about all it so maybe she could see her own situation in a different light too, even though it's a little different to begin with. ]

.. That's why I think that someday you and Jotaro-san will be fine with each other too.

[Jolyne's eyes are fixated on the ground right now, trying to allow the words that Josuke had said to sink in, and for her to try and see things in a different light. It was difficult, though. She had always seen Jotaro as the sort of person to be distant in the first place, not really caring for what others had to think. But...Josuke knew Jotaro a little better than she thought she knew her own father...

Her eyes darted right back up, turning her face to look at Josuke's.]

Those words better be true, otherwise I'm definitely coming back her and I'm going to give your hair the worst makeover ever, got it?

Hey, stay away from the hair!! [ Almost defensively he raises his hands up to shield his hair with them, as if she's going to jump at it right away.. nobody touches the 'do, okay, it's important to him! ]

Besides, of course I'm right. Jotaro-san might be a little distant, but he's not some kind of asshole. [ He could tell that much from everything. ] He just.. uhh.. shows he cares in some different way or whatever, maybe? I dunno, I don't know anyone else who's like that. At least my old man's pretty straightforward, even if he's senile as hell.

Hehehe... [A devious look spreads across her face as she comes closer to him, almost looking as if she really will pounce on him given the chance. But instead, she pulls away at the last second, her sticking out her tongue.] Yeah, right, that shit's important to ya, I know.

[But right, Jotaro talk...Jolyne still has some sort of disgruntled look on her face as though hearing Jotaro actually being a good guy? She'd probably need to see it in action, but...she doesn't think Josuke would be the sort of guy to actually lie about it.] ...right, right, I think I could have told you that much by just looking at my dad, too. He's something else.
