Not that the other has ever been downright mean to him - nothing Agreas would slot into that category, anyway - but he's still not the type to act like this. And it seems like his heat at least went away after what they did last time, so it can't even fully be his omega side acting up and deciding on what to do without the rest of Elijah's personality weighing in.
Which means all of this is just genuinely coming from him. That sort kiss, the way he clings to him in return, the way he buries himself against Agreas unlike anything Elijah has ever done before.
And more importantly.. there's those words. There's the other saying that he was already Agreas' before this. At least the implication of that does get through to the alpha - Elijah already liked him before this. He would already have been okay with this for a while, if not downright just wanted it. It makes Agreas wonder for a moment why Elijah didn't just say anything or ask all that time, since Agreas purposefully kept his distance in at least a romantic or sexual way because he didn't want to hurt Elijah's feelings - even though he felt the same thing, that his heart belonged to Elijah long before. He wouldn't have minded Elijah being his omega from the start, and if the other hadn't been so hurt by finding out he was an omega, he would have proposed it right from the moment they found out what they were.
But he already knows why he didn't say a thing. Because Elijah just isn't the type to say it to begin with. He's never been good with soft kind of words, so how could he ever say that he was his long ago? It feels like a small miracle that the other manages to force out those words right now, and Agreas does realise it just shows how hard the other is trying for him here.

He raises his face from the other's shoulder just enough so he can look at Elijah, fingers gently pressing on the side of the other's head and his chin so he can turn to him to face him. The stress from only a few moments ago seems to fade away completely as he brushes a little bit of hair out of the other's face. If it had been like this all this time, then it's a good thing last night happened - if not just so they could give in to the things they'd normally be able to do around each other. ]
Elijah... [ He practically breathes out the other's name before bringing his face close enough to the omega's to kiss him. It's different from last night when they were just running on instinct - this time it's slowly and softly more than the desperate, feverish hard kisses from last night.
Once he pulls away, he lets out a breath of relief. ]
