[ At first it had just been the usual. Elijah was in trouble, caught off guard by his heat kicking in while he was out, not knowing whether there were any alphas around that would take advantage of it. And of course Agreas had immediately gone out to find him when he got a message asking for help from the other - he knows how prideful Elijah is, even as an omega, and that it's already hard enough to ask for that sort of thing to begin with. He found the other and carried him home since it'd be difficult for Elijah to get back home quickly any other way in that state. It was a scenario that had already occured multiple times before, Elijah letting the alpha help him out since they had known each other for so long already and knew that Agreas wouldn't do anything to him. He would just take Elijah to Agreas' own place and leave him there on the bed where he could at least try to ride out the heat with the knowledge that no one would try anything funny while Elijah was that weak. It'd be just another time this happened.
Except that's not how it went. Even though Agreas had been fully holding himself back the other times, no matter how much the alpha instincts inside of him roared at seeing Elijah in that state, this time it was just too much. He knew he couldn't do anything to Elijah, not with how much the other hated having turned out an omega to begin with. Alphas, claiming, mating - Elijah seemed to hate the sheer idea of all of it, and Agreas would do anything to protect him from having to deal with any of that then. He ought to do at least that much since they're friends - unconventional friends, yes, but that's what Agreas sees it as anyway.
But knowing that didn't help. Not anymore. Because Elijah was lying on his bed in the middle of his heat, and the look in his eyes and the redness in his face and his warmth and the small noises he couldn't keep from slipping past his lips.. all of that drowned out any reasonable thought. The alpha inside of him moved before anything else did, and before he knew it - without even realising it, honestly - his hands were running all over Elijah, he was undressing him, kissing him, entering him and claiming him.
It's a little like a blur, but even as Agreas slowly wakes up now on top of the bed, it's not enough to have forgotten any of it. Even if it wasn't his own mind fully in control, taken over by instincts, he does know it happened. When he glances over and sees Elijah there next to him, still asleep, it's like the living proof of what he did. Because the other does look a little banged up, and more than that Agreas can immediately spot the mark on the other's body.
It makes his heart race. And not necessarily in a good way. Because all that echoes over and over through his mind is you fucked up. Not because he'd never want Elijah as a mate - honestly, he had never even really considered it, too conscious of the fact that the other didn't seem like he wanted to have to do anything with that stuff - but because he did something to Elijah that he can't reverse. Something that Elijah will most likely hate him for.
Agreas had always imagined mating with someone to be much different - cute, significant, almost a little like a wedding. The moment of agreement to spend the rest of your life together. He'd dreamed about it before, a couple of times, and as his heart warmed up he knew the only problem was that he just hadn't found the right omega to make his yet.
Except now he was on a bed next to the closest thing to a best friend he could have, having marked him against his will. He really is no better than some of the shitty alphas out there, is he?
The shock of the moment makes Agreas jolt up, his body moving to sit up on the bed with such a quick motion that it's bound to wake up Elijah too.. but he's not thinking of that right now. The panic is stronger than any other thought that could come into his mind, and some instinct that's decisively less alpha-like tells him to get out of here. He knows he logically can't, it's his place, after all, but no matter how brave he might be as you'd expect of an alpha in most situations, the thought of emotionally fucking over someone who means something in his life is utterly terrifying to him. What does he even say? Sorry? Yeah, right.
With a muttered "fuck" he buries his face into his hands, unable to do anything else just yet for the moment. ]
