[ In all honesty, Kwangjo hasn't meant to start up a sexual relationship with Sunhye. It had nothing to do with some antiquated idea of morals keeping his hands off his former best friend's fiance, but more the fact that Kwangjo hadn't expected Sunhye to give into his incessant flirting. Sure, Kwangjo could tell part of her thrived off the flirty cat and mouse, cop and criminal game they had going, but he hadn't actually thought at any point she'd let his hands wander over his body without stopping him, or let any part of him inside her.
He certainly didn't expect it would happen multiple times.
And yet here he is, fucking Shinwoo's girlfriend with relative frequency and little to no regrets. He's already fucked Shinwoo over in so many ways, what's one more type of screwing (more literal than most) to add to the list at this point?
So yes, when Shinwoo finally relented to Kwangjo's constant texting with no fight? It didn't take Kwangjo long to come up with a list of possibilities as to why Shinwoo was finally agreeing to meet him. Kwangjo's affair with Sunhye was at the top of his list, but other possibilities included but were not limited to Shinwoo finally snapping and wanting revenge for what Kwangjo had done to him so long ago, or just being tired of getting all the texts he couldn't escape.
All of the scenarios that Kwangjo could concoct ended in one simple way: with Shinwoo's fist in his face.
A beatdown wasn't something Kwangjo was overly interested in being on the receiving end of either, so he brought a little insurance with him in case Shinwoo really lost his shit during this confrontation. As Kwangjo stepped out his expensive import car and muttered something to his driver about taking a few laps around the neighborhood before checking on him, he also reached back behind him, hand pushing up under his jacket so his fingers could brush against the smooth metal of a loaded gun tucked safely away, but easy to grab if things got rough.
A cafe wasn't the ideal place to be pulling out a weapon, but Kwangjo assumed if Shinwoo was going to do more than give him a few quick jabs in the face that he'd be looking for somewhere more private to do it.
Shinwoo, for all his anger, wasn't the kind of person Kwangjo could see making that kind of move anyway, but Kwangjo always preferred to be overly prepared than deal with the consequences of assuming things would work out for the best.
Fixing an easy smile onto his face he walks down the street towards the cafe, lazily lifting a hand when he sees Shinwoo several yards away. ]
