① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

[ As he thought. It's not like Henry's particularly good at reading people, but for some reason, he finds he's sensitive to how Inigo is feeling more than others. Maybe it's because there's a bit of himself in the boy - no, the man, really - that he recognizes. Despite Inigo's uncertainties, Henry doesn't falter at all, gently patting the shoulders of the cape down to make sure it's securely on his son. ]

Naaaw. Don't be silly! I can't have you getting frostbite out here and losing your fingers and toes. I've heard it's really gross. [ straightening up, Henry plops his hands on his hips. His cheeks and nose are pink, but he's not shivering or anything. Why? Because he's Henry. ]

Besides, temperature, smemperature! I can barely feel this! I've been through way worse before.

[ Henry always knows just how to reassure people.. it's a good thing that Inigo is more or less used to it. You just have to after growing up with it, really, so he doesn't even wince when Henry speaks of losing fingers and toes. (Although he'd rather not, he.. needs those, thanks...) ]

Well, I do doubt I'd get frostbite like this, but.. [ Even if Henry says he's okay, he's already getting that color in his face.. in a way he thinks his father is sometimes much harder to read than he is with his act. ]

.. Would you maybe like to share? I'm pretty sure Mother would be upset if anything happened to any of us. She must already be worried right now.

[ It's probably the easiest thought to give Henry to get him to cooperate on this one. Besides, he just knows Olivia would fuss, it's what she's like.. ]

Yeah, probably. She's always worrying!

[ with a family like this, who can blame her, really... Despite his casual answer, though, Henry seems to consider it. As predicted, Olivia's the fastest way to make him serious about anything. ]

Hmmm... I dunno if we'd both fit under there, though.

[ he's not exactly a huge dude DESPITE WHAT THE HEIGHT CHART SAYS. If only one of them can use it, he'd rather have it be Inigo. ]

[ At least they're getting somewhere now. Honestly, Inigo is fine with even only half-sharing since they might indeed not fully fit under it together, but he has to at least do something. If there's something he can't allow himself to do again, it's being unable to do anything for his father, to allow him to get hurt or - in this case - frozen again while he's safe by himself.

He was still young when he realised he'd never see his father ever again, after all, and it's a hollow kind of feeling he never wants to experience again. ]

There is no harm in trying, is there? [ And he's already moving the thing off him a little so it's only half over his shoulders, like he's inviting Henry to come over and try. They can just.. huddle together a little or something, not like Inigo would mind that. As much as he easily gets shy about contact with others, that much sure doesn't apply to his family. ]
