Confessions of feelings are rarely as nice and romantic as they seem in the Hollywood flicks. Sometimes, they're screamed across an empty house as someone leaves. Others, they whispered across white pillow cases as bodies lie close together in the dark. Of course, these feelings may not be returned, but it may be the only shot you have.

If you even meant to spill, anyway.

How to Play
- Comment with your character, putting your information and preferences somewhere in the comment.

Which is to say that uh they're. EATING OUT. YES. They're doing this because they went out earlier to shop for normal clothes for Josuke since lbr here why on earth does he keep walking around in a sailor outfit when he isn't one at all. The hat can stay sure but people will obviously get the wrong idea about a guy who looks like he just stepped off a sailing ship!!

And Yasuho here is just looking really conflicted as she eats her. Whatever the fuck she bought for lunch that doesn't matter WHAT MATTERS IS THAT SHE'S GONNA DO IT. SHE TOLD HERSELF TODAY'S THE DAY, IT'S GONNA HAPPEN. SHE'S IN LOVE WITH A GUY WHO HAS FOUR BALLS AND THAT'S THAT NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! Except oh god how the hell are you supposed to spit something out like that she sure wouldn't know. Alas if only she stepped back to take a look at this that's the normal reaction to have anyways...]

How's your food, Josuke? [my god does she want to crawl into a hole and die rn]

[ Alas, Josuke himself is entirely unaware of whatever Yasuho might be thinking.. he's way too simple either way, since he doesn't have any memories he just views things so simply - sure, she's important to him, more than anyone else, she's really all he has in this world since he has no clue what else he could possibly have, but it's not like he's thinking any further than that since to him it's just that simple. Yasuho is an important person. Period. That's it.

It's why he's sitting there and calmly eating. Or.. well, calmly.. this is Josuke we're talking about, he can hardly do anything normally. It's why he's picked literally everything off his sandwich, ate that, and now he's staring at the pieces of sheer bread left lying on his plate as if he has no clue what to do with those.

His mind is brought off this mystery by the sound of her voice though, and he glances at her. ]

It tastes good. [ A little nod follows. ] .. You have good taste, Yasuho. Although..

[ Stares down at the bread again. Yeah, he's totally clueless.

HOW DID YOU FALL FOR THIS, GIRL... ]

Well, you're supposed to eat the bread too. [Or he should've had it all together more like. She wasn't sure if he'd maybe eaten a sandwich before at the Higashikata house or something, but welp this has... certainly explained that. Ah but here she was helping him out on the simple things again. She didn't mind of course, and it was comfortable to do the same old same old to boot, but this wasn't what the goal was! How could she break out of her comfort zone and tell him what she needs to say?!

And that's why Yasuho is more or less just picking at her... salad yes it's a salad she's normal enough after all she probably cares about her weight and shit. She'd eaten some of it earlier, but now she's so lost in thought on how to do this that she's poking the same lettuce leaf over and over.]

[ Oh, eat that too.. so it's not just to serve the rest of the stuff too, now he gets it.. sort of, either way. He believes her blindly, so he just nods and he's already starting to chew on.. well, basically dry bread. Not quite as yummy as the rest, but he's eating all the same.

Although he can't help but notice how she's a little silent and how she's picking at her food.. although since Josuke is not quite as good at picking up other people's feelings as most people are, he just blinks. ]

Are you having problems eating it too? [ Clearly that can be the only reason she's being quiet and not really eating, right... ]

[Watches him eat it... well it's good that he didn't do something else weird with it, right? But that's when she's dragged out of her circling thoughts thanks to his question.]

What? No, I know how to eat it. [She's not like you Josuke she knows how to be normal!! But man thinking about it even if she told him that she liked him, would her understand? Better check that first...]

Say, Josuke, do you know... Uh... What it means to l-like someone? [THIS FEELS SO PAINFULLY OBVIOUS TO HER OH GOD, but she's betting that he actually doesn't. Which honestly is just going to make this whole thing even more awkward why did she talk herself into this again.]

[ You're brave, Yasuho... especially considering what Josuke is like, but it's a good idea to ask him about it like this first exactly because of that. He stops chewing for a moment in the middle of his bite of bread, not even bothering to fully swallow it when he first speaks up. ]

I do. [ Although that's.. still.. questionable.. especially since he goes on after he actually swallows the food. ] Daiya told me she "liked" me too, after all. It's like that, isn't it? [ Not that he really even understood what she was after despite her BEING HALF NAKED IN FRONT OF HIM ]

But.. if I think about it that way, I can't say I like her. I like you much more.

[ Although it's not necessarily in a romantic way, judging from his straightforward tone - he doesn't really differentiate between romantic and platonic feelings when he puts it like this either way.. ]

[There's so many thoughts and emotions that cross her mind in the brief span that Josuke replies that it's a miracle she's even still conscious at this point.

For one thing HE DOES?! OH GOD THE JIG IS UP GO HOME GIRL YOU BLEW IT YOU COMPLETELY--yet the more he explains the less it feels like he really does understand and more like he just thinks he does. She's still not sure if that's for better or worse, but at least this means she doesn't have a reason to freak out just yet. Her heartbeat finally starts to calm down a bit too since she pretty much reached the height of embarrassment, even if it turned out to be a false alarm.

Until he mentions Daiya at least because wait what Daiya-chan said that?! She doesn't know if she should be envious of the other girl for saying it first or actually... impressed that she could actually say it. She knows that she could use some of that directness right now at least.

But that's when he says that he likes her more than Daiya BE STILL HER BEATING HEART...! Except that considering his tone, it's still not what she's talking about. As much as she wants to be happy hearing that, it's kind of hard to when for all she knows he might like her the same way he likes that sandwich. So with all this evidence presented, it really looks like the only way she can properly confess to him is if she actually teaches him what it means to like someone first.

This is going to get even harder she can tell.]

Er, a little bit, but it's a little different than that too. To really like someone is, uh... [Man how does she explain concepts like liking and loving she's completely out of her league here. Even so, she wants him to understand how she feels! She has to try.] I-It's like you want to stay with them all the time, or something like that...

[She practically mumbles the last half of that honestly.]

[ It's incredibly sad just how much is going through her head compared to what's going through Josuke's here.. although that's just the difference between a normal teenage girl and.. well, the special kind of thing Josuke is, alright. He just listens to everything she's saying and he's still calm like all of this is totally normal to him, being explained all of this too and all.. but at least he does make sure to absorb the information as he thinks it over, putting the bread down for a moment to think. ]

But I do want to stay with you. Is that considered another kind of like? [ He didn't know, man, to him there's just one kind of like that feels.. pretty natural, he's always felt it for her since the very moment she found him stark naked. ]

You were the first thing I saw in this world. [ Sure, only technically but as far as his memories are concerned, she really is the first. ] You were the first person that "existed" in my world.. Yasuho Hirose. That is why I wish for you to not leave me alone again but instead remain with me.

[Any further explanation or follow up she had on what it means to like someone disappears as she listens. Sure she knew that she was more or less the first person he met, but for him to say something like that... He really must have thought of her as important. Maybe it's still not the same thing she's talking about, but that for sure makes her happy to hear.]

... really? You want me to always stay with you?

Of course.

[ He says it like it's a natural thing. She was the first one by his side, so of course he wants her to stay. Is it really that weird? Or.. is there something else? He can't really read other people well, so he frowns a little as he tries to think about what it could be. ]

Are you saying you don't want to stay with me..?

N-No, of course I do! I always want to be with you! [It's like she's half-confessing just trying to figure it all out... It seemed like it was so simple for Josuke, maybe she was the one over-thinking things? She had one more question in mind though, so hopefully after that she'd be sure on this whole thing.]

There's another part to really liking someone though. It's like... [God, it's so embarrassing for her to even say since it's more or less her feelings plain and simple.] You worry about them a lot, and you want to make sure they're okay and... And happy.

[ At least it's a good thing he can't figure out what she was trying to say from just that either way, huh.. his obliviousness is at least good for some things, apparently, since he's still pretty calm about all of this despite her own flusterness. ]

... Aren't you happy?

[ Yes that's what he's assuming from what she's saying rather than the oblivious conclusion.. and in other words, yes, this means he's saying that that all counts for him naturally too - he wanted to protect Yasuho from the very beginning, even when he was trapped in Kira's apartment, after all.

Although the thought of her not being happy immediately worries him a little, actually, it's visible in his face after he's done.. ]

[NOW SHE'S FUCKED UP.

No seriously if she knew that it wouldn't freak Josuke out she'd be slamming her head on the table SHE'S TOTALLY FUCKED THIS UP. (Never mind that it would be alarming no matter who was looking in on the situation if she did that...)

Okay, so maybe she'll never be completely sure on if Josuke understands love, but this is enough, isn't it? It basically sounds like exactly what she feels, so... This is fine. More than enough actually, she wasn't even sure if he'd understand the things she mentioned. And even if he doesn't see it the same way, it's not fair for her to have made him tell her his feelings without her doing the same. HERE GOES NOW.]

No, I'm happy, I'm really happy! [She swallows, since god this is the hardest thing she's ever had to do. Freaking out over four testicles was preferable over this!! But, no she has to do this, SHE HAS TO TELL HIM HOW SHE FEELS. Just don't mind if it comes out rushed and mumbled and near incomprehensible.] That's why I wanted you to understand so I could tell you that uh... Uh...

I really, really like--no, not just like, um--I... I love you!!

[ Even though she says she's happy, he isn't entirely sure if she's alright.. after all, with the way her face is all red and she's stammering like that, it looks like she's having a fever! At least, he's pretty sure those are fever symptoms, not like he actually remembers having any fever before. So he's about to reach out and touch her hand, but he stops once she blurts out that last line, not even realising how much effort it caused her.

Instead he stares at her. And, slowly but surely, the corners of his lips actually tug up into a smile. Hearing those words from her.. it's nice, somehow. It makes him feel more and more that despite the fact that he doesn't remember anything, he's definitely not alone. Yasuho is right here and she.. loves him. Wants to always stay with him. Wants to see him happy..

And has he ever felt anything but all of that for her from the very beginning? No, those were his exact feelings, so.. he grabs her hand, holding it gently over the table. ]

I love you too, Yasuho. [ It's a much less embarassed statement and maybe actually a little too calm and serious, but.. that's just what Josuke is like. It's coming from his heart, either way, judging by his smile. ]

[Being as nervous as she is, Yasuho screwed her eyes shut as soon as she made her confession. This whole thing was just so embarrassing, what if he said he didn't know what love was specifically, who knows what else could go wrong with this--

But that's when she feels his hand holding hers. Opening one eye and peeking like that, she can see that he's... Actually smiling. He looks happy, just like she always wants him to be, and she can't help but smile back when she hears him say that he loves her too. Her heart's still pounding, sure, but it somehow feels a little less nerve-wracking and more like it was. Right. Like this is how it's supposed to be.

Carefully, she grips his hand back, still smiling while trying not to blush like crazy at least.]

Then... I guess we'll always be together, right?

Of course.

[ Of course. It's that simple to him. If she wants to be with him and he wants to be with her, then what's going to stop them? If anything does, he'll just try to fight it with all he's got, like the way he always does to fight for his goals.

He briefly lets go of her hand, but it's only so he can walk around the table, over to her side, and plop down next to her-- they're in one of those cafes with seats like here on the right since I say so, okay.. but this way he can sit next to her, and he drapes an arm around her shoulder to pull her closer and then hold her like that. As close to him as he can, the fact that they're out in public be damned, it's not like he gets how that would be embarassing either way. ]

.. Even if I would not be able to retrieve my memories.. I'd at least wish for you to be by my side.

Wha--Josuke...! [It's a little sudden, being pulled close to him like that, not to mention she DOES have the common sense to understand why it's embarrassing to do something like this in public. But, even though she's turning completely red now, it's still... nice... And that's why she sits comfortably with his arm around her, leaning her head on him to be even closer.]

Hey now, we're doing everything we can to get your memories back! It'll just suck if you don't remember them after everything we've done for them. And I'm sure we'll, y'know... stay with each other whether or not you get them back...

Ah, don't misunderstand, Yasuho. I will still do anything to get my memories back. [ It's what he's been fighting for since the very beginning, after all, not like he's going to give up on it.. but he's just saying he's more or less okay with not remembering just yet while it's still impossible as long as she's there. They might be some faint worry about it though, somewhere in the back of his mind - what if he does turn out to be something she'd reject just like when she had found those pictures that they thought might have belonged to him before that guy said otherwise?

But.. no. There's no use worrying about that. Yasuho is right here with him now, right against him.. ]

Although I wouldn't mind a life with you in either case.

Good, I was just, y'know, double checking and all. [It'd be too sad to give up now!! Likewise though, Yasuho has a similar small worry--what if when Josuke gets his memories back, having them changes him and it turns out he doesn't like her anymore? Even if she thinks about it though, she probably won't be getting an answer any time soon.

And there he was saying things like those so straightforwardly, not a hint of embarrassment in his expression. She knows she should try not to care as much and be more like Josuke in this case, but she can't help but bury her face in his shirt ever so slightly. It's not like she didn't enjoy hearing things like that or that she wasn't saying how she honestly felt, just that there was no getting around how embarrassing it was in public of all places.]

I wouldn't mind either... A-As long as we're with each other, we'll be happy.

[ For a few moments he doesn't speak up. Honestly, he seems perfectly content just sitting here like this with the two of them, no matter if people stare - he probably doesn't even notice it, he's completely off into his own world where it's just her right there.

But then after those moments he ruins it.. although not like he knows he's doing just that, he's just observing something. ]

Your face is still red, Yasuho. [ IS BLUSHING A THING PEOPLE DO.. ]

W-Well of course it is! [Why does she like this guy again, especially when having to deal with questions like these... Sure it's not his fault but that doesn't mean it's not weird!!] It's called blushing.

.. Yes, I know what "blushing" is, but.. even so..

[ Staring at her. And then his face is moving closer and closer to her own until their foreheads touch. Softly, not like he's bumping it against her, he's just lightly resting it as he stares into his eyes.. well, not like he knows what it seems like what he's doing here, he's just trying to get a good look at her. Oblivious as ever. ]

I was wondering why it happened right now of all times.

[She barely even hears the question with how loud her heart is pounding in her ears. In fact, any intelligent answer escapes from her for the moment since literally her entire view is taken up by Josuke, and even if she wanted to break the eye contact, the only other place to look was his... lips...

She wouldn't even have to lean forward an inch to kiss him like this.

--wait is this how it's going to be?! Is she, Yasuho Hirose, finally going to get her first kiss right after confessing and having her feelings reciprocated?! It would almost be like it was straight out of a manga if not for the fact that Josuke was.... So Josuke. Honestly, pounding heartbeat and beet red face aside, how was she supposed to explain things like why she's blushing right now? If she said it was because she was embarrassed that it would probably lead to one question after another and...

Jeez, it almost wasn't fair that she was the only one thinking so hard about all this. Maybe she needed to try the simple way for once.

And that's why she closes the short distance between them, quickly kissing Josuke right on the lips before looking down and moving back again, not enough to keep their foreheads from touching, but she doesn't really have enough courage to keep looking him in the eyes after doing that.]

... because I like you. [A good enough answer, right?]

[ .. A kiss. It actually comes to him as a surprise too, despite them having returned their feelings for each other just now.. so for a moment he just stares at Yasuho, plainly just staring. He sees her red face, the way she looks away from him, the way she's still so close to him.. and he decides the kiss was nice, it's just a warm feeling to have her this close to him, to have their lips touch - so that's what people do when they're in love, huh..?

It seems to express his love for Yasuho Hirose, the most important person in his life, it might be the only adequate way to do just that.

So after a moment of silence between the two of them, his lips seek out hers once more, softly pressing against them and not pulling away as quickly as she did. He wants to soak in this moment for a bit as he closes his eyes, her smell and taste filling him especially with the lack of sight. Even if he doesn't know who he is, he at least knows she's right here with him - and that's already helping more than anything else. ]

[For a second she thinks her heart's going to stop when he actually goes out of his way to find her lips and kiss her too, but then it settles that they're... actually kissing... And somehow, she can't help but feel happy from it. Here she was, kissing the boy she loved as happy as can be. What was there for her to complain about? Her previous nervousness turns into a sort of fluttering feeling in her stomach, but it's not unpleasant, not at all.

So she kisses him back, gently placing her hands on his shoulders as she closes her eyes as well. The way his lips feel against hers, the feel of his warmth underneath her hands--it's like everything in this single moment is absolutely perfect. All she can think about is how much she loves him.]

[ He hardly wants to pull away. He knows he has to, if not just to draw in some breath, but he really doesn't want to at the same time, he just.. wants to linger here with her in this kiss. It's why when he does pull away, it's only a little bit, their lips so close that they're still practically almost touching. Everything about his expression is much more content than it has been in a long time, and he gently grabs her hands, holding them in his own. ]

.. You don't think he is going to mind, do you? [ NOT LIKE SHE ACTUALLY HAS ANYTHING WITH THAT GUY, JOSUKE.. HE JUST TOLD YOU THAT!! ]

[She grips his hands back just as gently, a little out of breath but too happy and content to even mind honestly. When he asks his question though, a little of that fades since she... doesn't even realize who he's talking about LMFAO it's that much of a non-issue in her mind.]

Huh? Who do you mean? [NOT GETTING WHO HE'S TALKING ABOUT AT ALL.]

Joushuu, of course.

[ He's saying it like it's a natural thing.. Josuke is a little too gullible, huh. But it's not like he himself realises that - and it's not like he was holding back just now despite thinking all of this after the fact, whoops.. special for life, really. ]

Joushuu?! [JOSUKE THAT'S GROSS WHY WOULD YOU EVEN SAY THAT!! She's practically shuddering just thinking about it... Though given how Joushuu is, she's not surprised that he might have told Josuke things like that, as weird as it is to think about it. Man that guy was never going to take the hint, was he? In any case though, she sighs and shakes her head.]

Look, don't worry about him. He has the completely wrong impression about me anyways, and it's none of his business if I like someone.
