Maybe it's something to do with the fact that Elijah himself is so possessive of people, but the reverse is also true in some cases. Especially right now. He feels absolutely, undeniably thrilled at the idea that this..."king" saw something in Elijah that he liked...enough to take Elijah for himself, without even taking no for an answer.
