fontenelle history.

Born the first son to a well off family there were always quite a few expectations resting on Shinichi's shoulders, but he never seemed to show any signs of being pressured. Even when he was a little kid, Shinichi was generally upbeat and outgoing, mostly just looking to have fun at every opportunity presented to him. Always having been a physically active kind of person, he joined a kendo club in middle school just to have something to do. This is also where he met his long time best friend for the first time, Haruki Imamura (Sanosuke Harada). It was practically friendship at the first hit considering the way they met was through a spar where they beat each other up yet only came out of it happier. It's not like his school work suffered under his love for his hobby though - Shinichi had fairly decent grades the entire way through, even though there were some obvious weak spots, but he mostly excelled in the more science-y subjects and math when he actually bothered to work for it.

Right around the time before he graduated high school Shinichi got into a more rebellious patch of his life though. His parents started to try and push their expectations on him more and more, and his way of refusing to go along with them was by causing trouble after school - going around the streets, getting into fights, stuff like that. It wasn't until his best friend actually managed to get injured and nearly killed in one of those fights that Shinpachi decided to call it quits before it would get any worse than that for either of them and actually focus more on school again. He got into college, got his teacher's license and ended up becoming a math teacher at a local high school, practically cutting most contact with his parents by the time he moved out.

Since he's a huge manchild not a person with really good money managing skills though, living on himself proved to be more of a problem than it would be for most people. In the end he started having meals and sleeping over at Haruki's place more and more until the two decided it would just be more convenient to live together instead. Somewhere down the line he got pretty much addicted to going to the gym and training and obsessed with muscles too, so his daily schedule mostly consists of working at the school, doing muscle training at the gym and then bumming around at home. Living the late twenties bachelor life.
